Overview
SS7 Probe (SS7 Protocol Analyser) is a complete stand-alone solution for Capturing, System Quality Analysis, Statistical Analysis and Optimization of GSM A-Interface and ISUP Communications.

SS7 Probe will help you find out the performance of your GSM network and pinpoint the most frequent reasons for delivering poor service in a designated area.

Analysis can be performed both Real-time and Offline. Offline recorded data from other applications and switches also can be processed by SS7 Probe. Processed data is stored in the local database.

Different SS7 layers like MTP2, MTP3, ISUP, TUP, SCCP, INAP and many application layer protocols from GSM/GPRS network like MAP, CAMEL(CAP), IS 41 etc are decoded according to ANSI/ITU/ETSI standards and displayed in an organized fashion.

GSM A-Interface
SS7 Probe captures the A-Interface communication between MSC, BSC, and BTS, and provides the following statistical information:

• Call Detail Record
• Call start/end time
• Caller/Called number
• CIC
• OPC, DPC
• Reason for call termination
• Location Area Code
• Cell Identity
• Mobile Identity

ISUP Interface
SS7 Probe captures the ISUP communication and provides the following statistical information:

• Call Detail Record
• Call start/end time
• Caller/Called number
• CIC
• OPC, DPC
• Reason for call termination

System Quality Analysis

The following statistical information can be detected for each LAC/CI or OPC/DPC pair:

• Call Termination
• Reasons for Call Termination
• Reasons for Call Failure
• Handover
• Reasons for Handover
• Reasons for Handover Failure
• Location Update
• Reasons for Location Update
• Reasons for Location Update Failure

Optimization Data

SS7 Probe delivers the following data required for system optimization:

• Mobile originating/terminating call indicators
• Location update statistics (Request/Success/ Failure causes)
• Handover failure indicators (Request/Success/ Failure causes)
• Radio Interface
• Congestion
• System

• Handover Matrix between all cells
